Bathroom Sconces

For the love of bathroom light fixtures, furniture, and more.

The history of bathroom sconces, and all sconces in general, dates back centuries.  These were originally used as a source of lighting, and they held candles that would light up rooms.  While many figured that the advent of electricity would eliminate the role and need for sconces, they have surprisingly remained very popular and remain a staple in many new and modern homes today.

People are often choosing bathroom sconces over things like lamps, track lighting, and other wired sources of lighting that rely on the use of typical light bulbs.

One thing about bathroom sconces is the fact that while they will make a room brighter, they’re usually not relied on as the only source of light in the room.  The lighting power of the bathroom sconce is generally weaker than other forms, and it’s typically used as a means of setting the mood in the room.

If you’re looking for a decorative piece to your bathroom, and would like to create an environment where a dim room is sometimes present, bathroom sconces can be a really nice touch to the room.  These are typically great forms of soft light and while some can be dimmed and others can’t, they’ll always usually be somewhat dim by default.

In combination of a stronger form of main light, the presence of two bathroom sconces (or even just one) will suffice in making a great impact on the room.

Unlike many other more invasive forms of lighting, one characteristic that many bathroom sconce owners seem to like is the fact that these units are fixed on the wall.  This means that there’s no need to worry about having to create additional room to facilitate these, as most bathrooms can often be rather limited in terms of space to begin with.

Another great thing about bathroom sconces is the wide variety available.  Not only can you choose from a broad range of different styles, but there are so many colors to choose from too.  This will ensure that you’ll have the ability to find something that matches your bathroom set well.

You’ll also want to consider the power of whichever sets of bathroom sconces you buy.  The more voltage, the more energy requirements they might have as far as your bathroom is concerned, and you’ll want to make sure they match up well.

As for where you should place your bathroom sconces, well, different people have different preferences.  However, many owners enjoy placing theirs above their mirrors.  The way the sconce light reflects directly off of the mirror forms a warm glow that allows the bathroom user to see themselves in a very gentle and flattering light.

General prices on bathroom sconces have a wide variety of ranges.  Much of it depends on the size, the quality of the sconce itself, the style, and the overall power emitted by the bathroom sconce.  Be prepared to spend a minimum of $40 or so, but don’t be surprised to see many decorative bathroom sconces with list prices in the hundreds of dollars and more.

Regardless of the ones you choose, these are beautiful pieces that owners always seem to enjoy.  We hope you like yours too.
